Minimum Requirements

Key Duties & Responsibilities

The Clinic Receptionist will be responsible for:

Patient Reception & Administration

  • Register patients according to established clinic standards

  • Open and manage new patient files

  • Ensure all patient information is accurate and confidential

  • Assist patients in completing medical and medical aid forms

  • Process medical aid payments and authorisation procedures

Clinic Operations Support

  • Coordinate and manage patient appointments

  • Move patients through appointments as scheduled

  • Obtain medical reports when required

  • Monitor and maintain clinic equipment, medication, and stationery

  • Ensure reception area cleanliness and patient privacy

Telephone & Communication Management

  • Answer all incoming calls promptly and professionally

  • Use proper telephone etiquette at all times

  • Provide accurate information to callers

  • Take and relay messages accurately, confirming details with callers

  • Ensure calls and messages are transferred to the correct staff members

  • Assist walk-in guests with meetings or deliveries

Patient Care & Support

  • Assist patients in distress and respond to emergencies

  • Follow up with patients regarding requested feedback

  • Ensure patients receive timely responses to queries
