Minimum Qualification
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 Certificate
Preference may be given to applicants who live in the local area where the position is based.
Skills and Competencies
Candidates should have:
- Good communication skills
- Basic literacy and communication skills
- Basic knowledge of general hygiene practices
- Knowledge of cleaning products and their applications
- Ability to use different cleaning equipment and products
- Understanding of workplace policies and procedures
- Knowledge of the facility layout
- Willingness to work extended hours when required, including overtime, weekends and public holidays
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining high cleaning and hygiene standards.
Duties include:
- Cleaning toilets, offices, equipment and other property
- Cleaning reception areas and offices daily
- Emptying office dustbins and disposing of waste correctly
- Collecting paper waste for recycling
- Checking and cleaning bathrooms at least twice daily
- Dusting office furniture
- Vacuuming carpets
- Cleaning windows according to the required schedule
- Using cleaning materials and equipment effectively
- Keeping cleaning products and equipment stored neatly
- Assisting with preparations for meetings in the boardroom
- Following Occupational Health and Safety requirements
- Performing other reasonable duties when required
Working Hours
The position is shift-based, so applicants must be prepared to work according to the employer’s operational schedule.
Candidates may also be required to work overtime, weekends and public holidays.
