Cleaner Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic and safe environment within health facilities.
Duties include cleaning:

- Walls, windows, doors and window frames
- Bathrooms, showers and lockers
- Furniture
- Corridors and public toilets

- Equipment and carpets
Cleaners will also be responsible for removing medical and general waste, cleaning waste bins and flattening cardboard boxes.
Other Responsibilities
Successful applicants may also be required to:
- Operate heavy-duty cleaning machines.
- Follow healthcare waste-management and infection-control procedures.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
- Defrost and clean unit refrigerators.
- Refill soap containers.
- Clean and maintain unit kitchens.
- Monitor kitchen and bathroom stock and report shortages to the supervisor.
- Keep cleaning trolleys clean.
- Complete daily cleaning-control lists.
- Follow cleaning-service policies and procedures.
- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Attend approved meetings and training.
- Participate in continuous training and development.
- Perform additional reasonable duties allocated by the supervisor.
