Minimum Qualification

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 Certificate

Preference may be given to applicants who live in the local area where the position is based.

Skills and Competencies

Candidates should have:

• Good communication skills
• Basic literacy and communication skills
• Basic knowledge of general hygiene practices
• Knowledge of cleaning products and their applications
• Ability to use different cleaning equipment and products
• Understanding of workplace policies and procedures
• Knowledge of the facility layout
• Willingness to work extended hours when required, including overtime, weekends and public holidays

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining high cleaning and hygiene standards.

Duties include:

• Cleaning toilets, offices, equipment and other property
• Cleaning reception areas and offices daily
• Emptying office dustbins and disposing of waste correctly
• Collecting paper waste for recycling
• Checking and cleaning bathrooms at least twice daily
• Dusting office furniture
• Vacuuming carpets
• Cleaning windows according to the required schedule
• Using cleaning materials and equipment effectively
• Keeping cleaning products and equipment stored neatly
• Assisting with preparations for meetings in the boardroom
• Following Occupational Health and Safety requirements
• Performing other reasonable duties when required

Working Hours

The position is shift-based, so applicants must be prepared to work according to the employer’s operational schedule.

Candidates may also be required to work overtime, weekends and public holidays.
