NSFAS Laptop and Digital Learning Device Application 2024-2025

NSFAS provides funding for students’ learning devices in addition to other financial assistance. TVET college students must already be receiving NSFAS funds to be eligible for a learning device, while university students can apply even if they are first-time entrants.
Applying for a Laptop on Campus:
- Obtain a Digital Learning Device form (DLD) from your campus.
- Fill out the form and submit it to your Financial Aid Office (FAO).
- Sign an agreement that includes the following terms (terms may vary by college):
For Students:
- Acknowledge understanding of the policies in the Digital Learning Student Handbook.
- Agree to use and care for digital devices properly as described in the Student Rights and Responsibility Handbook and Technology Use Form.
- Understand that the school owns the network, accounts, devices, and applications, with the right to access any files or information at any time.
- Agree to return digital devices and accessories in working order.
For Parents/Guardians:
- Acknowledge reading the Digital Learning Student Handbook and understand the purpose of the technology.
- Agree to support the student in adhering to the Acceptable Use Agreement and other guidelines.
- Understand the consequences for the student if the agreement is broken.
- Acknowledge that the school owns the network, accounts, devices, and applications.
- Understand that digital devices are school property and must be returned according to school policy.
- Acknowledge that children’s computer activities at home should be supervised.
- Understand the responsibility for paying for any needed repairs or replacements.
Ordering your NSFAS Laptop Online:
- Visit NSFAS’s official website and open myNSFAS.
- Click on the Online Order Portal and provide your institution’s name, phone number, alternative phone number, and email address.
- NSFAS and your institution will verify your details and process your order.
Receiving your NSFAS Laptop:
- Collect your laptop in person; the service provider will not release it to anyone else.
- Bring an identity document or birth certificate and a student card from your institution.
- Sign the terms and conditions agreement and an acknowledgment receipt of the digital learning device.
Canceling your NSFAS Laptop Order:
- Inform your campus Financial Aid Office (FAO) if you wish to cancel your laptop order.
