Job Description:
RCL FOODS is currently seeking a skilled Miller to join our Baking Division in Pretoria West. Reporting to the Head Miller, the successful candidate will oversee the efficient and cost-effective operations of all mills. They will ensure that all finished products meet specific quality standards while achieving daily targets and measurements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified Miller with trade testing in maize milling technologies preferred (Experience with Wheat and Maize ideal).
- Minimum of 3 years of milling experience in a high-capacity plant.
- Fumigation and Grading Certification.
- Advanced milling qualifications advantageous.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Operational Tasks – Roller Mills:
- Conduct weekly break releases on Wheat Mills as instructed.
- Prevent stock buildup on roll feed plates.
- Regularly inspect and replace scrapers and roll brushes as needed.
- Ensure operational exhausts on roll hoppers during shifts.
Plansifter:
- Perform scheduled maintenance on all sifters.
- Replace burst covers during shifts.
- Inspect and maintain inlet/outlet sleeves on sifters and purifiers.
- Ensure cleanliness and functionality of turbo sieve screens and machine interiors.
Purifiers:
- Maintain operational purifier brushes in good condition.
- Clean air tunnels and ensure proper purifier settings.
- Ensure intact and unblinded covers on purifiers.
- Ensure proper separation on concentrators and maize mill aspirators.
Aspiration and Exhausts:
- Monitor manometer readings on all filters.
- Ensure pneumatic hammer and pulsing unit functionality on filters.
- Maintain correct temperature control on heater banks.
- Conduct routine checks on milling machine efficiency as per Mill Manager’s instructions.
Quality:
- Perform Pekar tests twice per shift on all finished products.
- Test all finished products using Diode Array machine during shifts and record results.
- Maintain quality standards on finished products as per specifications.
- Reduce waste and implement lean manufacturing principles.
